This includes rolling plains, oak savannas, and dramatic peaks. The area is affectionately known as “The Yosemite of Southern California” and offers a unique beauty and great space to enjoy.
What can you do in Malibu Creek State Park?
This is a great Malibu location for hiking, climbing, riding, and biking. While the higher density areas of the park remain closed due to COVID there are still many ways to enjoy the park while social distancing. The areas that are closed include the visitor center, the rock pool, and Century Lake. Of course, there are many things to see and do that do not require being close to others and allow you to enjoy wide-open spaces and fresh air.

The park is home to wildlife, flowers, and a variety of trees. There are a number of types of birds that call Malibu Creek State Park home, including loons, ducks, boobies, eagles, hawks, and owls, to name a few. Additionally, there are deer, mountain lions, coyotes, rabbits, and badgers, along with other mammals that call the park home. There are many opportunities to get closer to nature and learn more about the natural environment in the Malibu area.
